Abstract

Abstract An apparatus for displaying a travel path in which the constantly changing location of a moving body is successively computed and the location of said body is displayed, on a display screen having a map previously displayed thereon. The apparatus includes: means for registering longitude and latitude values of a reference point, means for converting the current location of the moving body on the two-dimensional coordinates to a position on latitude-longitude coordinates; and means for calculating the current location on the map, on the basis of the known latitude-longitude values of the reference point on the map displayed on the display screen and displaying said currrent location on the display screen.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 150 words
An apparatus for displaying a travel path of a running body in which a constantly changing location of the running body on a two-dimensional coordinates is successively computed and the current location of said running body is displayed successively, in accordance with the data thus computed, on a display screen having a map previously displayed thereon, characterised in that the apparatus comprises: means for registering longitude and latitude values of a reference point in a mesh consisting of lines of longitude and latitude in each map of divided areas, as known factors, means for converting the current location of the running body on the two-dimensional-coordinates to a position on latitude-longitude coordinates; and means for calculating the current location on the map, on the basis of the known latitude-longitude values of the reference point on the map displayed on the display screen and displaying said current location on the display screen.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
An apparatus according to claim 1 in which the reference points of the lines of longitude and latitude.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 29 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, in which the map is displayed so that the reference point in the mesh resides substantially at the center of the display screen.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 50 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, in which data of the constantly changing location of the running body on the two-dimensional coordinates is successively stored in a memory, while the travel path of the running body is displayed on the two-dimensional coordinates system on the basis of said stored data.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 79 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, in which the latitude-longitude values of position of a target point set on a map displayed on the display screen are calculated from the reference point of the map and means is provided to obtain and display a distance between the current location and said target point from a difference in position on a latitude-longitude coordinates between the current location and said target point on the respective maps residing in the different areas.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 45 words
An apparatus according to claim 8, which includes means for displaying a distance from the current location to the target point set on a map in other area when a map of an area where the current location exits is displayed on the display screen.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 35 words
An apparataus according to claim 5, in which a distance between target points set on maps of different areas in obtained and displayed on the basis of a difference in position on a latitude-longitude coordinates.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 38 words
B. An apparatus according to claim 7, in which a total distance between the current location and a firstly set target point is obtained and displayed as the target point is successively set on maps of different areas.
