Abstract
Abstract There is disclosed a sync signal detection apparatus wherein a sync signal representing the top of recorded data is composed of a plurality of marks each having a pattern different from that of any other mark. The apparatus is equipped with a circuit for sequentially detecting the patterns of the individual marks in a reproduction mode, and a circuit for generating, upon detection of a predetermined number of marks, a sync pulse at the top of the data in accordance with the address pattern of the mark.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim
84 words
A sync signal detection apparatus wherein a sync signal used to represent the top of recorded data is composed of a plurality of marks each having a pattern different from that of any other mark, said apparatus comprising: a means for sequentially detecting the patterns of the individual marks in a reproduction mode; and a means for generating, upon detection of a predetermined number of marks, a sync pulse at the top of the data in accordance with the address pattern of said mark.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
21 words
The detection apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein said sync signal is recorded in a non-return to zero inverted system.
Claim 4
Independent Claim
59 words
A method of recording data digitally on a recording medium, the data being recorded in a plurality of sections on the medium each said section having associated therewith a recorded sync signal characterised in that said sync signal is recorded as a plurality of sync signal portions having predetermined different signal patterns which can be individually detected during reproduction.
Claim 5
Independent Claim
59 words
A method of recording data digitally on a recording medium, the data being recorded in a plurality of sections on the medium each said section having associated therewith a recorded sync signal characterised in that said sync signal is recorded as a plurality of sync signal portions having predetermined different signal patterns which can be individually detected during reproduction.
