Abstract Translated from German Verfahren zur Herstellung von Rußfiltern unter Verwendung von Filz, Matten oder ähnlichen Filterelementen, die aus losen, temperaturbeständigen Fasern (10) aufgebaut sind. Um die losen Fasern zu verfestigen und besser zu verankern, wird das aus Fasern bestehende Filterelement im CVD-Verfahren oder durch Abscheidung amorpher Produkte aus flüssiger Phase mit einem ebenfalls temperaturbeständigen Material beschichtet. Dadurch werden die Fasern an ihren Kreuzpunkten (15, 17) miteinander verbunden. Process for the production of soot filters using felt, mats or similar filter elements which are made up of loose, temperature-resistant fibers (10). In order to solidify and better anchor the loose fibers, the filter element made of fibers is coated with a temperature-resistant material using the CVD process or by separating amorphous products from the liquid phase. As a result, the fibers are connected to one another at their cross points (15, 17).
