Process for the preparation of polyamines, and their use in the preparation of polyurethanes
Abstract
The invention relates to a one-step process for the preparation of polyamines having primary amino groups, preferably aromatic amino groups, by hydrolysis of compounds having terminal isocyanate groups and having an NCO content of 0.5 to 40% by weight with 0.75 to 50 moles of water per equivalent of NCO Groups, if appropriate in the presence of at most 1% by weight of a non-installable basic and / or metal catalyst in carboxamides as organic solvents, preferably in dimethylformamide, at certain weight ratios of water to carboxamides, water to NCO content and carboxamides to NCO -Connection, preferably in a homogeneous solution at at least 20 ° C. Modified (preferably urethane-modified) polyisocyanates or, in particular, NCO prepolymers are used as the compounds containing isocyanate groups. The hydrolysis according to the invention leads, with elimination of carbon dioxide, directly to the polyamines, which can be isolated by customary methods, it preferably being possible to dispense with the removal of the small amounts of catalyst. The invention also relates to the use of the polyamines according to the invention for the production of polyurethane (urea).
