Abstract

Polyamines containing primary amino groups are prepared by hydrolysis of compounds containing NCO groups in media containing water, using a one-step process a) Compounds containing NCO groups, preferably with aromatically bound NCO groups, with an NCO content of 0.5-40% by weight b) at least 1 mol of water per equivalent of NCO of component a) c) in the presence of catalysts which can be incorporated via at least one NCO group, such as 1. at least partially neutralized compounds with an acid group and or 2. basic compounds which do not react in the sense of an isocyanate addition reaction and or 3. other built-in catalysts d) and in the presence of ≥ 10% by weight, based on 100% by weight of component a), of water-miscible aprotic-dipolar solvents and if necessary e) in the presence of compounds which are not catalytically active in the sense of c) and have one or more hydroxyl and / or amino and / or thiol groups bonded to aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, heterocyclic or aromatic radicals while maintaining an essentially homogeneous reaction mixture at one temperature hydrolyzed between 20 and 210 ° C, and optionally treated during or after the hydrolysis with an acid. The polyamines obtained are used as a reaction component for the production of polyurethanes.
