Abstract

Abstract The specification and drawings relate to liquid crystal matrix display panel which is used to display a television image or the like and disclose the technology in which: the pixels on a matrix are divided into at least two groups of pixels, in particular, two right and left pixel groups: these pixel groups are respectively independently driven within one horizontal scanning interval; thereby widening the width of the vertical scanning signal and allowing the image signal to be sufficiently transferred to the liquid crystal cells; and thereby allowing a high-quality image to be displayed without causing the lack of luminance and a variation in luminance in association with the realization of a large area and a fine pitch of the display panel.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 44 words
A matrix display panel having an active matrix substrate which is driven by source and gate lines, wherein pixels on a matrix are divided into at least two groups of pixels and each pixel group is respectively independently driven within one horizontal scanning interval.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 44 words
A matrix display panel having an active matrix substrate which is driven by source and gate lines, wherein pixels on a matrix are divided into at least two groups of pixels and each pixel group is respectively independently driven within one horizontal scanning interval.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 46 words
A matrix display panel according to claim 1, wherein while the sampled and held data is being transferred into liquid crystal cells of one of said pixel groups, the data to be transferred to liquid crystal cells of the other pixel group is sampled and held.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 29 words
A matrix display panel according to claim 1, wherein while the next image signal is sampled and held, a gate-on pulse is applied synchronously with the preceding image signal.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
A matrix display panel according to claim 1, wherein the pixels on one line are divided into the respective groups by the two gate lines.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 28 words
A matrix display panel according to claim 1, wherein said source and gate lines are respectively connected with a source and a gate of a thin film transistor.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 18 words
A matrix display panel according to claim 5, wherein said thin film transistor has amorphous silicon as semiconductor.
