Abstract

Abstract A container for determining antibodies or antigens in a biological liquid by the formation of specific antibody-antigen complexes, in which one partner element is initially associated with suspended magnetic particles that are subsequently regrouped against a certain area of one wall (8) of the container when the container is positioned within a magnetic field that extends through that area of the wall. To prevent the particles from sliding down when the magnetic field is eliminated and to allow effective pipetting, the lower part of said area of the wall is adjacent to a plane surface (7) that is at an obtuse angle to said wall and tangent to a concave surface (5) that is itself tangent to a wall (6) of the container opposite to the wall that is at an obtuse angle.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 116 words
Container for measuring antibodies or antigens in a biological liquid by forming specific antibody-antigen complexes, in which one of said antigen or antibody element is initially associated with suspended magnetic particles that are subsequently regrouped against a certain area of one side wall of the container when the container is positioned within a magnetic field that extends through that area of the wall, this being for selectively removing the liquid phase, characterized in that this portion of the side wall holding the regrouped particles is adjacent to the bottom of said container, this bottom comprising at least a portion of area of straight generant, coplanar with the side wall generant and at a blunt angle thereto.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 116 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
Container as in Claim 1, characterized in that said blunt angle is between 105 and 120°.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 59 words
Container as in Claim 1, characterized in that it has a rectangular cross-section, said portion of area of straight generant being planar and adjacent to one of the side walls of the Container and tangent to a concave surface which is itself tangent to a wall of the container opposite to the wall which is at a blunt angle.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
Container as in Claim 1, characterized by a partition extending between the two opposite walls and dividing the container into two identical compartments.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 48 words
Container as in Claim 1, charaterized in that said area of the wall includes a region for transmitting ultrasound and consisting of a portion that is less rigid than the rest of the wall and that is elastically connected at its circumference to the rest of the wall.
