Abstract

Abstract A tomography system uses a static magnetic field around the patient's body. HF electromagnetic pulses for precise displacement of the magnetisation of the atoms in the body to obtain a resonance signal and a gradient magnetic field. The resonance signal is sampled during a given measuring interval and the measuring cycle is repeated after an intermediate waiting period. During the successive measuring cycles the static magnetic field is subjected to an amplitude modulation, with a phase displacement between the resonance signals entered in the successive lines of the storage matrix.
