Abstract

Abstract A portable electronic memorandum device is placed in the password set mode (Z-1) by operating switch S1. In this mode, if the correct password is set, the secret mode (Y) is set up and the secret data is displayed. If user forgets the password, switch Sc is operated in the error display mode (Z-3). By this operation, the password and the secret data are both cleared, so that secrecy of the secret data can be protected.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 157 words
A portable-electronic memorandum device characterized by: a secret data memory section (DM) for storing secret data, said memory allowing said secret data to be read out therefrom; input means (21) for password data inputting; memory means (Z) for storing the password data as input by said input means, said password data memory means prohibiting new data from being written thereinto until the password data stored therein is cleared; display means (Y in Fig. 7) for displaying the secret data stored in said secret data memory section only when said display means receives the password data stored in said password data memory means; clear means (Sc in Figs. 1 and 7) for clearing the password data as stored in said password data memory means; and secret data clear means (S43 in Fig. 6C) for clearing the secret data as stored in said secret data memory section when said password data is cleared by said password data clear means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 157 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 65 words
A portable electronic memorandum device according to claim 1, further comprising switch means for changing the mode between a write mode allowing the enter of the password data and a mode prohibiting the enter of such data, and in which said password data memory means allows the password data to be written thereinto when the write mode is set up by said operation switch means.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
A portable electronic memorandum device according to claim 1, characterized in that said secret data includes persons' names and telephone numbers.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 40 words
A portable electronic memorandum device according to claim 1, characterized in that the operations of said password data clear means and said secret data clear means are under control of a microprogram as stored in a ROM (read only memory).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 32 words
A portable electronic memorandum device according to claim 1, further comprising clock means for counting current time, and clock display means for displaying the current time as counted by said clock means.
