Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim
109 words
1 . A prosthetic heart valve having an upstream and a downstream end, said valve comprising a suture ring adapted to be sutured to heart tissue and surrounding and supporting a stent which surrounds and supports a conduit which bears a plurality of flexible leaflets vhich mutually coapt at the downstream end of the valve to permit flow substantially only from the upstream end to the downstream end, said valve further comprising an upstream extension of the conduit at the upstream end thereof, said upstream extension covering the upstream end of the stent and extending at least 1.5 mm farther upstream than the upstream face of the suture ring.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
109 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
17 words
A valve according to claim 1 in which said upstream extension extends at least 3.0 mm. ;
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
48 words
A valve according to claim 1 in which said otent extends beyond the suture ring at the upstream end, and said upstream extension passes around the upstream end of the stent and then around the outer surface of the stent toward the upstream face of the suture ring.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
46 words
A valve according to claim 1 which further comprises a downstream extension of said conduit at the downstream end thereof, said downstream extension abutting the downstream end of the stent and extending at least 1.0 mm farther downstream than the downstream face of the suture ring.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
16 words
A valve according to claim 14 in which said downstream extension extends at least 1.5 mm.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
37 words
A valve according to claim 4 in vhich said downstream extension further passes around the downstream end of the stent and then around the outer surface of the stent toward the downstream face of the suture ring.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
33 words
A valve according to claim 1 in which said stent is provided vith fenestrations, and the conduit is fastened to the stent by material bonded to the conduit and passing through the fenestrations.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
38 words
A valve according to claim 4 in which the stent is provided with fenestrations and the conduit is fastened to the stent by material passing through the fenestrations and bonded to both the conduit and said downstream extension.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
38 words
A valve according to claim 6 in which the stent is provided vith fenestrations and the conduit is fastened to the stent by material passing through the fenestrations and bonded to both the conduit and said dovnstream extension.
