Light guide ferrule connector
Abstract
For the reliable interception of an optical waveguide cable (16) on an optical waveguide connector, an end section of a Kevlar fiber layer (17) of the cable that absorbs tensile stress, above which the cable sheath (15) has been removed, is placed on a hollow cylindrical attachment provided on the outside with transverse grooves (7) of the connector and then a sleeve (1) made of elastic plastic, previously pushed onto the cable, is pushed onto the extension covered by the fiber layer. The inside of the sleeve is provided with a groove structure (12) which is complementary to the transverse grooves of the attachment, so that the grooves of the attachment interlock with those of the sleeve and the Kevlar fiber layer between the attachment and sleeve is clamped in a zigzag shape.
