Abstract

Abstract @ A fundamental apparatus for processing video signals comprising video signal select means (2) which selectively introduces video signals from a plurality of transmission lines (1), memory means (4) which stores video signals, write means (3) which writes video signals from the video signal select means (2) onto the memory means (4) with synchronizing signals of video signals as control singals, read means (5) which designates addresses of data stored in the memory means (4) to read data from the memory means (4), operation means (6) which performs arithmetic operation using data read out by the read means (5), output means (7) which produces the results of operation of the operation means (6) to the transmission lines (1) or which permits video signals of the transmission lines (1) to pass through, and control means (8) which controls the video signal select means (2), read means (5), operation means (6) and output means (7) relying upon independent synchronizing signals. By using the fundamental apparatus, varieties of processing can be performed in real time for the video signals that are raster-scanned.
