Abstract 1. Base element for standing furniture produced predominantly from plastics material, consisting of a base frame made in one piece as a whole by injection moulding, with a frame and at least three legs passing through the plane of the frame and at least partially intersecting the frame, characterized in that the frame (2) comprises an insert (120) in the region of its point of intersection with a selected leg (3), with an insert section (123) lying in the frame (2), curved in correspondence with the frame shape.
