Abstract

A process for the production of objects from polyurethane foam is described, in which the object is produced in a conventional manner by foaming in a mold and the mold is treated with a release agent before the foam-forming components are loaded. According to the invention, an aqueous release agent or release agent concentrate containing an organic solvent is used, which is applied in a conventional manner by atomization, but with the aid of hot, pressurized gases, in particular hot compressed air. The application is preferably carried out with the aid of an air atomization device, the temperature of the compressed air preferably used being at least 100 ° C. The process according to the invention has the advantage that, on the one hand, it allows the use of aqueous release agents or release agent concentrates containing organic solvents and thus greatly reduces or completely avoids the environmental impact associated with organic solvents and, on the other hand, those with the poor evaporation behavior of aqueous release agents and the high viscosity of organic solvents containing the release agent concentrates associated disadvantages.
