Applications à l'optique non linéaire, à la préparation de filtres, de réflecteurs, d'appareils de mesure de forces. The invention relates to a family of thermotropic polymers of the type with a mesogenic lateral group, having at least one mesomorphic phase and obtained from a monomer of general chemical formula: <IMAGE> in which R1 = CH3, Cl or H and 2 < = n <= 11. Applications to nonlinear optics, to the preparation of filters, reflectors, force measuring devices.
