Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 87 words
A process comprising heating a halogen-containing polymer to a temperature sufficient to effect cross-linking in the presence of a cure system containing an aliphatic substituted thiourea, characterized in that the cure system further contains: (1) an inorganic base selected from the group consisting of a group Ia oxide, a group Ia hydroxide, a group Ia carbonate, a group IIa oxide, a group IIa hydroxide, and a group IIa carbonate, and (2) a thiuram sulfide selected fror. the group consisting of an alkylthiuram sulfide and an arylthiurai,t sulfide.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 87 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of Claim 1, further characterized in that the inorganic base is magnesium oxide.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of Claim 1, further characterized in that the thiuram sulfide is tetramethylthylthiuram disulfide.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 31 words
The process of Claim 1 further characterized in that the inorganic base is present in an amount from about 0.5% to about 5.0% based on the weight of the halogen-containing polymer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 31 words
The process of Claim 1 further characterized in that the thiuram sulfide is present in an amount from about 0.5% to about 10.0% based on the weight of the halogen-containing polymer.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 17 words
The process of Claim 1, further characterized in that the halogen-containing polymer is an epichlorohydrin-ethylene oxide copolymer.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
The process of Claim 1, further characterized in that the halogen-containing polymer is an epichlorohydrin-propylene oxide copolymer.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of Claim 1, further characterized in that the aliphatic substituted thiourea is ethylene thiourea.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 11 words
The cross-linked halogen-containing polymers obtained by the processes of claims 1-8.
