Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 90 words
A hang-fire control means for an externally powered gun (10), having an ammunition feed enclosure (15) in which a set of deflecting means (26,27) is displaceably mounted, which whenever ignition is delayed deflects the cartridges (13) supplied to the gun (10) into an ejector passage (20) and they remain on an endless chain, characterised in that the deflecting means comprise two segments (26, 27) which can be displaced in the direction of the cartridge axes and one of which selectively projects as required into the path of the cartridges (13).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 90 words
A hang-fire control means for an externally powered gun (10), having an ammunition feed enclosure (15) in which a set of deflecting means (26,27) is displaceably mounted, which whenever ignition is delayed deflects the cartridges (13) supplied to the gun (10) into an ejector passage (20) and they remain on an endless chain, characterised in that the deflecting means comprise two segments (26, 27) which can be displaced in the direction of the cartridge axes and one of which selectively projects as required into the path of the cartridges (13).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 45 words
The hang-fire control means according to Claim 1, characterised in that the two segments (26, 27) are hinged at the ends of a balance arm (32) pivotably mounted in an enclosure (28), in order to necessarily displace the two segments (26, 27) in opposite directions.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 54 words
The hang-fire control means according to Claim 2, characterised in that at least one compression spring (34) is supported on the one on one segment (26) and on the other on the enclosure (28) and tries to push one segment (26) into its operational position and the other segment (27) into its nonoperational position.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 46 words
The hang-fire control means according to Claim 3, characterised in that to actuate the segments (26, 27) an actuating cable (35) is fixed on one segment (26) in order to push said segment (26) against the force of the compression spring (34) into its non-operational position.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 42 words
The hang-fire control means according to Claim 4, characterised in that to guide the segments (26, 27) pilot pins (30) are fixed in the enclosure (28) which project into holes in the segments (26,27), which can be displaced on said pins (30).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 41 words
The hang-fire control means according to Claim 1, characterised in that in its operational position one of the segmenta (27) projects into the ejector passage (20) and the other segment (26) projects in its operational position into the feeder passage (19).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 40 words
The hang-fire control means according to Claim 1, charactersised in that in the region of the segments (26, 27) is arranged a rotating plate (41) which engages in the cannelure of the cartridges (13) to prevent the cartridges from overturning.
