Process for extracting oil from oil-bearing vegetable products
Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for extracting oil from oil-containing vegetable substances with the aid of compressed gases, characterized in that the vegetable substances are extracted with a single-phase mixture of a supercritical gas and a subcritical entrainer, the pressure, temperature and composition of the as the extractant mixture of compressed gas and entraining agent are chosen so that the oil to be extracted can be mixed with the extractant in any ratio; after which the loaded extractant is separated from the extracted substances in a separating container and converted into an oil-rich liquid phase and a gaseous oil-poor phase in a regenerator by increasing the temperature and possibly reducing the pressure, separating the phases mentioned and releasing the oil-rich phase, whereupon, if appropriate, that in the oil obtained remaining entrainer is recovered.
