Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 69 words
A two-phase composition having a continuous phase and a dispersed phase, the continuous phase consisting essentially of a melt-processable crystalline tnermoplastic fluorocarbon resin containing a minimum of 38 percent by weight fluorine, said dispersed phase consisting essentially of an amorphous crosslinked (vulcanizea) fluoroelastomer containing a minimum of 58 percent by weight fluorine, said dispersed phase constituting between about 50 and 90 percent by weight of the two phase composition.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 69 words
A two-phase composition having a continuous phase and a dispersed phase, the continuous phase consisting essentially of a melt-processable crystalline tnermoplastic fluorocarbon resin containing a minimum of 38 percent by weight fluorine, said dispersed phase consisting essentially of an amorphous crosslinked (vulcanizea) fluoroelastomer containing a minimum of 58 percent by weight fluorine, said dispersed phase constituting between about 50 and 90 percent by weight of the two phase composition.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 26 words
The composition of Claim 1 in which the crystalline thermoplastic fluorocarbon resin is selected from the class consisting of fully fluorinated or partially fluorinated thermoplastic resins.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 25 words
The composition of Claim 2 in which the amorphous crosslinked fluorocarbon elastomer is selected from the class consisting of fully fluorinated or partially fluorinatea fluoroelastomers.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 73 words
A process for the preparation of the two-phase composition of Claim 1 which comprises (a) melt blending a melt-processable crystalline thermoplastic fluorocarbon resin containing a minimum of 38 percent by weight fluorine and an uncured fluoroelastomer containing a minimum of 58 percent by weight fluorine, (b) crosslinking the uncured fluoroelastomer while the crystalline thermoplastic fluorocarbon resin is at a temperature above its crystalline melting point and while the melt blend is undergoing mixing.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 23 words
The process of Claim 4 in which a chemical curative is added to the melt blend at the beginning of the crosslinking step.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of Claim 4 in which the free radicals are generated during the crosslinking step.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 13 words
The composition of Claim 1 in which the fluoroelastomer is vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoro- propylene/tetrafluoroethylene.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 16 words
The composition of Claim 7 in which the crystalline thermoplastic fluorocarbon resin is a tetrafluoroethylene/ethylene/perfluorobutyl ethylene.
