Method and apparatus for surface-treating sheet-material webs
Abstract
A method for the surface treatment of a substrate made of thermoplastic material is described, in which the substrate is guided into the zone of the corona discharge which runs between two electrodes which are subjected to high electrical voltage. The characterizing features of the method are that reactive ionized substances from the liquid phase are applied to at least one surface of the substrate simultaneously with the corona treatment in the corona discharge zone. In addition, a device for carrying out the above-mentioned method is described, comprising a support surface and a high-voltage electrode which is connected to a high-voltage generator via a high-voltage cable. The characteristic features of the device consist in the fact that the high-voltage electrode is an electrode profile which is open towards the supporting surface and which is filled with a liquid.
