Endosseous implant for the attachment of a fixed dental prosthesis
Abstract
An endosseous implant for fastening fixed dentures has two parts that can be connected to one another. One part can be inserted into a jawbone and has a bore into which a pin of the other part, which is used to fasten the dentures, can be replaced. The diameter of the cylindrical outer wall of the pin is so much larger than the diameter of the hole that the pin jams in the hole at body temperature, but can be pulled out of the hole when the temperature drops. Such a connection is easy to handle, cannot come loose and is practically gap-free, so that no bacterial foci form and inflammation can occur.
