Lambda-controlled mixture-measuring system for an internal-combustion engine
Abstract
It becomes a mixture metering system for an internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas probe which is exposed to the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine and which shows the air ratio lambda and preferably has a two-point characteristic, the signals of which are subjected to a downstream control function which preferably has a proportional-integral behavior and in which the output variable of this control function has a corrective effect on the mixture composition, proposed in which the control oscillation of the output variable of the control function is set to a predetermined amplitude by means of a superimposed control. In particular, the I component is influenced in such a way that the integral component contained in the control oscillation has the same amplitude as the proportional component in the steady state. The maximum control frequency can thus be maintained in every operating range of the internal combustion engine, so that the controller always works at its optimum. In addition, the influence of sample scatter from the engine or exhaust gas probe and from long-term changes is suppressed.
