Abstract

Abstract In a device for applying a tissue adhesive, which is formed in situ by bringing together solutions of proteins and coagulation-promoting clotting factors, a plurality of containers (1, 2), ending in attachment pieces (25, 26), is provided for receiving the components to be applied, it being possible for a connection head (27) to be arranged on the attachment pieces (25, 26) of the containers (1, 2), which connection head has one delivery channel (28, 29) for each of the components to be applied. In order also to reach poorly accessible application areas with the device, even without the assistance of an endoscope, the connection head (27) has an additional delivery channel (30) for a medical gas, which channel runs parallel and closely adjacent to the other delivery channels to the end face of the connection head (27), and the connection head (27) continues in a multi-lumen catheter (31) containing a gas delivery channel (30). <IMAGE>

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim 177 words
Arrangement for applying a tissue adhesive based on human or animal proteins for seamlessly or seam-supportingly connecting human or animal tissue or organ parts, for sealing wounds, stopping bleedings and the like, which tissue adhesive is formed in situ by bringing together solutions of the proteins and blood clot-promoting coagulation factors, with a plurality of containers (1, 2) ending in joining pieces (25, 26) and adapted to accommodate the. components to be applied, advantageously with a plurality of standardised disposable syringe bodies made of synthetic material and ending in coni, with a connecting head (27) attachable to the joining pieces (25, 26) of the containers (1, 2) and having a separate conveying channel (28, 29), leading to the front side of the connecting head, for each of the components to be applied, and with a mixing cannula attachable to the connecting head, characterised in that the connecting head (27) possesses an additional conveying channel (30) for a medicinal gas, which, closely adjacent to the other conveying channels, leads to the front side of the connecting head (27).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 177 words

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 30 words
Arrangement according to claim 1, characterised in that the mixing cannula (36) comprises an internal surface including elevations and depressions (39), respectively, promoting the turbulence of the components flowing therethrough.
