Device for supplying respiratory gas to the closed respiratory circuit of a medical respiratory apparatus
Abstract
Closed breathing systems are characterized in that the patient's airways are tightly connected to a closed volume, to which only as much breathing gas is supplied as is absorbed by the patient. The amount of breathing gas supplied must be controlled. This takes place here via the pressure in the breathing circuit or the concentration of oxygen or anesthetic gas in the breathing gas. A drop in pressure indicates either increased consumption or a leak, i.e. a leak. In order to eliminate possible under or overuse for the patient, it is very important to recognize the patient or leak consumption. The device according to the invention succeeds in safely separating the leakage part from the consumption part by comparing these quantities with the respiratory gas quantities which arise at different predetermined breathing circuit pressures.
