Abstract

Abstract @ The present invention relates to a light-tight cassette (1) suitable for holding a roll of web-like light-sensitive photographic material (2) wound around a core (6) and for dispensing said photographic material through a slit (19) provided in the cassette. The cassette of the invention is substantially in the form of a box comprising a shell portion (3) whose wall is at least partly and locally realized as a double wall and two end closure walls (4, 5) which are secured to said shell portion (3) by means (42, 46; 43, 47; 44, 48 and 45, 49) provided in the outer wall of the double wall portions of said shell and in said end closure walls respectively. By incorporating the locking means of the shell portion cooperating with the locking means of the end closure walls within the outer wall of the double wall portions of the shell the inner wall of the double wall portions of the shell prevents light from falling into the cassette through the locking means and makes the cassette perfectly light-tight.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 174 words
A light-tight cassette suitable for holding a roll of web-like light-sensitive photographic material wound around a core and for dispensing the said photographic material through a slit provided in said cassette wherein the said cassette is in the form of a box comprising a shell and end closure walls having central axially projecting hub portions for rotatably supporting a said roll within said box, characterized in that the wall of said shell is at least partly and locally realized as a double wall structure, and in that means are provided within at least one of said end closure walls cooperating with perforations provided in the outer wall of the double wall or double wall portions of said shell so as to realize the locking of said end closure wall or walls to said shell, wherein the inner wall of said double wall or double wall portions is acting as a shield preventing ambient light from falling into said cassette through the perforations in the outer wall of said double wall or double wall portions.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 174 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 81 words
A cassette according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one of said end closure walls is provided with an opening through which a key can be inserted into said cassette and whereby, in the event of a said cassette being loaded with a roll of web-like light-sensitive photographic material wound around a core, said key cooperates with said core so as to lock the latter within the said cassette thereby preventing rotational movement of said roll within said cassette.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 62 words
A cassette according to claim 2, characterized in that said core comprises two concentric cilinders which are secured to one another by a plurality of radially extending spokes or planes wherein said key is made to cooperate with said spokes or planes in said core, thereby locking said core within said cassette and preventing clock-springing of the said roll of photographic material.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 71 words
A cassette according to claim 1, characterized in that said shell comprises four walls joined together by three successive corner portions and wherein the free extremities of the first and fourth of said walls are defining a narrow slit extending over the entire width of said shell for dispensing the web-like light-sensitive photographic material, and in that at least the said corner portions of said shell are realized as double walls.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 31 words
A cassette according to claim 4, characterized in that at least one of the said free extremities of the said first and fourth walls is provided with a double wall portion.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 94 words
A cassette according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one of said end closure walls has spaced inner and outer peripheral wall portions defining at a peripheral zone from which the said hub portion axially protrudes a peripheral groove for receiving the corresponding end portion of said shell, and in that at least one of said end closure walls is provided with axially projecting portions at said peripheral groove cooperating with corresponding hollow portions in said shell which are defined by the said double wall or double wall portions of said shell.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 25 words
A cassette according to claim 6, characterized in that the said hollow portions in said shell are extending over the entire width of said shell.
