Abstract

An implantable device for selectively opening and closing tubular body organs, in particular the urethra, is described. The sleeve made of an elastomeric plastic is dimensionally stable and has a gap-shaped through-opening for the organ, the width of the gap being dimensioned such that the organ is at least partially closed in the rest position. By manually exerting pressure, possibly also using a remote control, a brief widening of the gap and thus opening of the organ can be achieved. With the help of a ball that can be moved into a seat, a permanent opening can also be achieved.
