Portable memory for recording, storing and reproducing data

Abstract

Abstract The portable data carrier (1) is employed as a non-wearing mass store and contains a central unit (9) which combines data received from the input and output unit (3, 4) with the data of a real-time clock (6) and stores them in a read-write memory (7) of large capacity, the content of the read-write memory (7) being destroyed in the event of mechanical intervention in the data carrier. The essential aims of such a data carrier are data security, protection of software against copying, and protection of data against damage of whatever sort. It further serves as a data carrier for the provision of data to robots, CNC machines, control units of apparatuses and the like. Furthermore, it serves the purpose of data acquisition in vehicles, and of the acquisition of data accompanying products on production lines and in the OFF-line time recording of staff and machines. <IMAGE>
