Abstract

In the device for clamping workpieces on machine tool tables, in particular as a round chuck on lathes with a clamping plate, the grooves are formed by a spiral, the turns of which start from a fixed point. The vacuum source is advantageously connected at this point. As a result, when clamping a workpiece, it is basically only necessary to use a small elastic seal at one point in order to separate the part of the spiral groove from the vacuum source that is no longer in the projection area of the workpiece.
