Abstract

The invention relates to an improvement in devices for reading electronic memory cards. In order to prevent the electrical signals delivered by the processing circuit (42.44) of the card reader from being applied in an anarchic order, the card reader comprises a sensor (50) for positioning the card (12) in the passage introduction (10) which authorizes the application of electrical signals to the electrical contact elements (201 to 208) of the card reader only if the latter occupies a required position.
