Abstract

Abstract A medical electrode device comprises a flexible bag-like member (15a) which is formed on the side of the device (21) in direct contact with a living body and to and from which is charged and discharged a heat medium, and a flexible electrode (14) secured to the bag-like member, wherein an inner surface of the flexible bag-like member is at least partially joined to the other opposing inner surface of the bag-like member to each other so as to form a partitioned flow channel (20) for the heat medium in the inside of the bag-like member. The medical electrode device, when applied to the surface of a living body with a small radius of curvature, can be in an intimate contact with the living body without disturbing the distribution of the electric field, can attain a satisfactory cooling effect due to the use of a direct cooling system and the uniform flow distribution of water through the partitioned flow channel, as well as can perform efficient warming for the aimed lesion in the living body.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 106 words
A medical electrode device characterised in that it comprises a flexible bag-like member (15a) which is formed on the side of the device which is to be in direct contact with a living body and to and from which is charged and discharged a heat medium, and a flexible electrode (14) secured to said bag-like member, wherein an inner surface (of 15) of said flexible bag-like member is at least partially joined (at 19) to the other opposing inner surface (of 13) of said bag-like member so as to form a partitioned flow channel (20) for the heat medium in the inside of said bag-like member.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 106 words
A medical electrode device characterised in that it comprises a flexible bag-like member (15a) which is formed on the side of the device which is to be in direct contact with a living body and to and from which is charged and discharged a heat medium, and a flexible electrode (14) secured to said bag-like member, wherein an inner surface (of 15) of said flexible bag-like member is at least partially joined (at 19) to the other opposing inner surface (of 13) of said bag-like member so as to form a partitioned flow channel (20) for the heat medium in the inside of said bag-like member.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 19 words
The medical electrode device of claim 1, in which the flexible bag-like member is formed with a sheet-like material.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
The medical electrode device of claim 1, in which the bag-like member is formed by overlaying two sheets of film.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
The medical electrode device of claim 1, in which the flow channel is branched to form a composite channel.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 27 words
The medical electrode device of claim 1, in which the flow channel is extended while turning in the vertical direction, as well as right- and left-ward directions.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 22 words
The medical electrode device of claim 1, in which the electrode is secured to the outer side of the flexible bag-like member.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
The medical electrode device of claim 1, in which the electrode is secured to the inner side of the flexible bag-like member.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 48 words
The medical electrode device of claim 1, in which the electrode further comprises a hollow presser member (24) disposed on the side opposing to the side in contact with said living body, adapted to be expandable and shrinkable and secured together with said electrode to said living body.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 24 words
The medical electrode device of claim 8, in which the presser member is fixed to the living body by means of fixing belts (32).
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 27 words
The medical electrode device of claim 8, in which the presser member is formed by overlaying two sheets (55, 57) of film overlying to the bag-like member.
