Abstract

Abstract A playback apparatus for use with a disc on which main and subdigital data have been recorded in a common track. The apparatus comprises respective buffer memories for the main and subdigital data reproduced from the disc and control means responsive to subdigital data read-out from its buffer memory for searching a playback location of the main digital data.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 151 words
A disc playback apparatus using a disc on which main digital data and subdigital data to selectively reproduce said main digital data have been recorded in a common track, characterized in that the apparatus comprises: means for generating a write clock synchronized with a reproduction signal of said disc; means for generating a readout clock at a fixed period; a first buffer memory in which said main digital data reproduced from the disc is written by said write clock and from which said main digital data written is read out by said readout clock; a second buffer memory in which said subdigital data reproduced from the disc is written by the write clock and from which said subdigital data written is read out by the readout clock; and control means for searching a playback location of the main digital data by said subdigital data read out from said second buffer memory.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 151 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 28 words
A disc playback apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that said first buffer memory is used to decode an error correction code of said main digital data.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 31 words
A disc playback apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that said subdigital data is a code signal which continuously changes in accordance with locations in the track on the disc.
