Abstract

Abstract The present invention relates to a work pallet changer which changes a work pallet (4) fittet on the pallet fixing decive (2) on the table (1) of a machine tool (M), comprising movable mounting parts (12a), disposed on a rotary carrier which is rotatable about a horizontal axis (16a), to allow transferring a work pallet between a pallet mounting part located on the top surface of said rotary carrier and the pallet fixing device, and at the same time, letting chips produced by cutting fall down from a work pallet which faces downwardly.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 111 words
A work pallet changer for use with a machine tool which has a table (1) adapted for the accommodation of work pallets (4), the changer comprising a shift system which includes a plurality of pallet-mounting parts each of which can be moved between a pallet-changing position (X), suitable for the transfer of a pallet to or from the table, and another position (Y) displaced from the pallet-changing position, characterised in that the shift system comprises a rotary carrier (12) which is rotatable about a horizontal axis (16a) and has a plurality of pallet-mounting parts (12a) each adapted for holding a pallet, these parts being spaced around the periphery of the carrier.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 111 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 30 words
A work pallet changer according to claim 1 in which a respective pallet-engaging system (15) is provided for each pallet-mounting part to hold a pallet on the respective pallet-mounting part.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
A work pallet changer according to claim 2 and in combination with a machine tool of which an indexing axis is parallel to said rotary axis.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 37 words
A work pallet changer according to any foregoing claim, in which the rotary carrier (12) is shaped as a plate and at least one pallet-mounting part is disposed on each of the broad faces of the plate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 40 words
A work pallet changer according to any of claims 1 to 3, in which the carrier (12) is in the form of a triangular column and at least one pallet mounting is provided on each side face of the carrier.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 38 words
A work pallet changer according to any of claims 1 to 3 in which the carrier is in the form of a square column and at least one pallet-mounting part is provided on each side of the carrier.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 24 words
A work pallet changer according to any of claims 1 to 6 in which the rotary axis passes through the centre of the carrier.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 34 words
A work pallet changer according to any of claims 1 to 7 in which a chip or swarf washing system (W) is disposed to provide upwardly directed cleaning jets from below the rotary carrier.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 45 words
A work pallet changer according to any foregoing claim, further comprising a push-pull transfer system (82 or 98) for the transfer of a pallet between a pallet fixing device on the table of the machine tool and a pallet-mounting part located at the pallet-changing position.
