Abstract
Abstract A method to detect indirectly a temperature of an object employing nuclear magnetic resonance techniques (NMR) The method involves obtaining an NMR spectrum to determine chemical shift, relaxation times, spin-spin couplings or quadrupole couplings for an element of a compound having at least one conformational isomer wherein the compound is influenced by a temperature of the object. <??>The difference between the detected radio frequency signals for the same element, spectral patterns or chemical shifts corresponds to the temperature of the object.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
61 words
A method of detecting a temperature in an object comprising subjecting the object to a NMR spectrometer, detecting radio-frequency signals in a spectral pattern derived from an element of a compound having at least one conformational isomer associated with the object wherein the element is influenced by the temperature, and comparing the detected signals as a means to detect the temperature.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
61 words
A method of detecting a temperature in an object comprising subjecting the object to a NMR spectrometer, detecting radio-frequency signals in a spectral pattern derived from an element of a compound having at least one conformational isomer associated with the object wherein the element is influenced by the temperature, and comparing the detected signals as a means to detect the temperature.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
13 words
A method as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the object is an animal.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
29 words
A method as claimed in either Claim 1 or 2 wherein the detected signals for the element correspond to spectral positions representative of the conformational isomers of the compound.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
