Current-limiting switch
Abstract
Limiting switch, comprising two movable levers (6-7) subjected to the action of springs (22-23) which apply against each other separable contact pads placed at their respective ends; a thin electrically insulating screen (45) placed between the levers so that its edge is inserted between the contact pads while maintaining total isolation between the levers when the latter separate from one another, as a result of the circulation of short-circuit currents in the switch, characterized in that the ends (18, 19) of the levers (6, 7), where the contact pads (20, 21) are placed, are located in the immediate vicinity d 'an insulating surface (104) of the housing (2), so that the arc path is essentially tangential with respect to the displacement of the movable contacts, the movement of said edge towards and against this insulating surface causing a constriction of the arc and completely insulating from each other the two opposite and sealed chambers that the screen separates inside the internal volume of the housing.
