Abstract
Abstract A film-forming propylene copolymer composed of a major amount of propylene and a minor amount of ethylene, characterized by having (A) an ethylene content (Ec) of from 0.1 mole% to 2.0 mole% based on the total amount of propylene and ethylene, and (B) an isotactic value (Iso) in the range represented by the following formula (1) or (2), (i) when 0.1 ≤Ec≤0.3, and (ii) when 0.3≤Ec≤2.0, wherein Ec represents the numerical value of Ec (mole%); a film of the copolymer; and a process for producing the film.

A film according to claim 1 wherein formula (1) is and formula (2) is
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
32 words
A film according to claim 1 or 2 wherein the copolymer is further characterized by having (C) an intrinsic viscosity [η], determined in decalin at 135°C, of from 1.2 to 6.0 dl/g.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
79 words
A process for producing a biaxially stretched propylene copolymer film which comprises melt-extruding through a die a film-forming propylene copolymer as defined in claim 1, 2 or 3, cooling the extruded film to solidify it, and stretching the solidified film in the machine direction at a temperature of 110 to 150°C and a stretch ratio of 3.5 and in the transverse direction at a temperature of 155 to 165 0 C and a stretch ratio of at least 7.
