Abstract

Abstract A syringe for storing medication and dispensing predetermined doses has an outer housing (1) in which a cylindrical casing (5) is rotatably mounted. The inner end (6) of the casing (5) constitutes a first piston which is movable axially of the housing to fill a space (17) defined between the end (6) and the closed end of the housing with a predetermined quantity of medication. A second piston (10) is axially movable by way of its rod (11) within a sleeve (9) which extends axially of the cylindrical casing (5). Movement of the second piston (10) relative to the sleeve (9) being arranged to fill the sleeve (9) with a predetermined dose of the medication in the space (17).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 54 words
A syringe for storing medication and dispensing dosed quantities thereof, characterised in that said syringe comprises a housing and two piston-like devices, the filling operation of the entire quantity being effected by one device under vacuum, while the filling of the dosed quantity to be injected is effected by the other device under pressure.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 54 words
A syringe for storing medication and dispensing dosed quantities thereof, characterised in that said syringe comprises a housing and two piston-like devices, the filling operation of the entire quantity being effected by one device under vacuum, while the filling of the dosed quantity to be injected is effected by the other device under pressure.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 92 words
3 2. A syringe as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said first-mentioned device is a casing whose inner end constitutes a piston and which is adapted to be axially movable within said housing, said casing having an axially extending sleeve which merges with said inner end of the casing, a piston being axially movable within said sleeve, the movement of the casing relative the housing filling the entire quantity of the medication while the filling of the dosed quantity is effected by the movement of the said second piston relative said sleeve.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 36 words
A syringe as claimed in Claim 2, wherein the housing has a short internal thread and said casing is provided with an external thread along its length, the axial movement between them being effected by screwing.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 31 words
A syringe as claimed in any of Claims 1 to 3, wherein said second piston-like device is provided with a rod which is covered by a tubular handle provided with calibrations.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 35 words
A syringe as claimed in Claim 4, wherein said handle is provided with an external screw thread onto which a ring is adapted to be threaded, to limit the dispensing movement of second piston device.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 56 words
A syringe as claimed in Claim 4, wherein a nut is disposed in said tubular handle whose internal wall is profiled to fit said nut, the latter screwingly engaging the external wall of said sleeve, the axial movement of the handle being limited by the position of the nut on the external wall of the sleeve.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
A syringe as claimed in Claim 6, wherein radial calibrations are provided on a flange surrounding the outer end of said casing.
