Abstract

A housing (10) has a master cylinder connection (20) and an inlet chamber (30) connected to it, as well as a wheel cylinder connection (50) and an outlet chamber (40) connected to it. A piston (38) is arranged between the two chambers (30, 40) and normally leaves a connection between them. When a certain retarding force acting on it is exceeded, a valve body (32) can be moved into a closed position in which it interrupts the connection between the two chambers (30, 40), whereupon the piston (38) as the pressure in the inlet chamber (30 ) enlarged at the expense of the outlet chamber (40). A throttle body (52) is arranged in the outlet chamber (40), which normally leaves the wheel cylinder connection (50) free, but can be moved to a position in which it partially covers the wheel cylinder connection (50) when the brake fluid is suddenly confirmed by the flowing brake fluid. If the brake fluid flows too quickly when the master cylinder is suddenly actuated, it itself ensures that the path to the wheel cylinder connection (50) is partially blocked, thereby preventing an excessively steep pressure rise in the or each downstream wheel cylinder.
