Compact combiner of semiconductor devices operating in the microwave domain
Abstract
The invention relates to a combiner of microwave semiconductor devices, diodes or transistors, mounted according to a topology which makes it possible to group several of them on a base provided for a single device. The semiconductor devices (1) in the solid state dissipate little energy, and are associated with microstrip lines (71). To increase the dissipated power by grouping a plurality of semiconductor pads without changing the base (10), it is necessary to be able to fold the microstrip lines (71) or shorten them. A very thin substrate (12) (H <λg / 40) makes it possible to reduce the width of the microstrips (71), for the same impedance. A material with a very high dielectric constant ε> 35, for the substrate (12) makes it possible to reduce the length of the microstrips (71), placed concentric around the pellets. Applications to devices emitting several tens of watts microwave: radars, radio-relay systems.
