Abstract

Abstract A process for the reduction of organics in an adjusted brine solution is provided comprising contacting the adjusted brine solution with an aerated sludge of acclimated, aerobic bacteria under conditions sufficient to reduce the organics to a desired level. The waste water may be further treated by filtration, carbon adsorption and reverse osmosis or equivalent to treat the waste water for recycle or surface discharge.
