Improvements in or relating to light detecting and measuring devices.
Abstract
An optical device through which light is transmitted to a sensing or measuring device (12, 13 or 14) has an optical path through which specularly transmitted light can pass to fall on a predetermined area (25) of the device detection or measurement. The scattered light is sent to the device but falls on the detection surface (24, 24a, 24b) over an area larger than the predetermined area (25). In order to improve the relative response of the device to scattered light, an attenuation filter (33, 33a, 33b) is placed over the predetermined area (25) of the detection surface.
