Abstract
Abstract A biologically active composition comprises an immobilised antigen or antibody, phase, and an immobilised enzyme enzyme inhibitor or enzyme activator phase. The composition may be used in determination of antigen or antibody in a simple procedure of high sensitivity.

A method of determining antigen or antibody which consists by enzyme immuneassay characterised by (A), when determining antigen; contacting (1) a biologically active composition according to any one of the preceding claims comprising an immobilised antibody phase capable of reacting with the antigen to be determined or comprising an immobilised antigen phase capable of reacting with said antibody and (2) an immobilised enzyme, enzyme inhibitor or enzyme activator phase, with a combination material comprising (3) an antigen capable of reacting with a said immobilised antibody or an antibody capable of reacting with a said immobilised antigen and (4) an enzyme inhibitor or enzyme activator capable of reacting with a said immobilized enzyme or an enzyme capable of reacting with a said immobilised enzyme inhibitor or enzyme activator, and.with the antigen to be measured in an aqueous solution, and measuring the enzyme activity or the enzyme inhibiting or enzyme activating activity of said biologically active composition; and by (B), when determining antibody; contacting a biologically active composition according to any one of the preceding claims comprising (1) an immobilised antigen phase capable of reacting with the antibody to be determined or an immobilised antibody phase capable of reacting with said antigen and (2) an immobilised enzyme, enzyme inhibitor or enzyme activator phase, with a combination material comprising (3) an antibody capable of reacting with a said immobilised antigen or an antigen capable of reacting with a said immobilised antibody and (4) an enzyme inhibitor or enzyme activator capable of reacting with a said immobilised enzyme or an enzyme capable of reacting with a said immobilised enzyme inhibitor or enzyme activator, and with the antibody to be measured in an aqueous solution, and measuring the enzyme activitiy or the enzyme inhibiting or enzyme activating activity of said biologically active composition or solution.
