Abstract

Abstract A vehicle mounted spraying system includes a spray boom assembly (205) which is mounted onto a vehicle, preferably a tractor. The spraying process is automatically controlled to give correct dosages and the control system includes two microprocessors (206, 207), a first (206) associated with the spray boom assembly (205) which monitors the spray process and a second (207) associated with a display (225) and control (224) unit in the vehicle which monitors the vehicle operating conditions and drives the display to provide information to the operator.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 88 words
A container comprising a body (209) for holding material to be dispensed wherein the container has associated therewith at least one electrically-addressable memory device (214) in which a record of the contents of said container (209) is stored, said record including electrically alterable data defining a quantity of material held in said body (209) and said memory (214) being addressable during dispensing of said material to effect alteration of said data to maintain in said record a definition of the quantity of material remaining in the body (209).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 88 words
A container comprising a body (209) for holding material to be dispensed wherein the container has associated therewith at least one electrically-addressable memory device (214) in which a record of the contents of said container (209) is stored, said record including electrically alterable data defining a quantity of material held in said body (209) and said memory (214) being addressable during dispensing of said material to effect alteration of said data to maintain in said record a definition of the quantity of material remaining in the body (209).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
A container as claimed in claim 1 in which said memory device (214) when altered is irreversibly altered.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 46 words
A container as claimed in claim 2, in which said memory device (214) comprises a plurality of fusible links so that said record of the contents of the remaining material in said container can be maintained by successively fusing ones of said plurality of fusible links.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 32 words
A container as claimed in any of one claims 1 to 3 in which the container is adapted to be connected to a system (201) which distributes the contents of the container.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 32 words
A container as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4 in which the memory device (214) is preset with a security code which prevents unauthorised containers being connected to the system.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 50 words
A container as claimed in claim 4 in which the distribution of the contents of the container is organised under the control of a microprocessor which is responsive to alter the record of the contents of the memory in dependence on the volume of the contents removed from the container.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 32 words
A container as claimed in claim 6 in which the memory device (214) is preset with the identity of the contents of the container stored in digital form in a predetermined series.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 47 words
A container as claimed in claim 7 in which the memory device (214) is additionally preset with information relating to the incompatibility of the contents of the container with other chemical substances in the predetermined series such that the microprocessor will not allow mixing of incompatible chemicals.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 75 words
A container as claimed in claim 4 in which the system (201) which distributes the contents is a spraying system includes means (355, 348) for electrostatically charging the spray produced by the spray head and in which the system is designed to be vehicle mounted, said microprocessor being powdered by the vehicle electrical supply and being responsive to inputs from the operational variables of said vehicle to control the outflow of contents from the container.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 24 words
A container as claimed in claim 1 in which the memory device (214) is attached to a closure (229) forming part of the container.
