Photosensitive composition

Claim 2

A positive-working photosensitive composition comprising (a) an o-quinonediazide compound characterized by the presence of (b) a condensed resin containing a condensation unit composed of an aromatic compound having a carboxyl group and a phenolic hydroxyl group, and an aldehyde or ketone.

Claim 3

A positive-working photosensitive composition according to Claim 1, characterized in that said aldehyde is formaldehyde or benzaldehyde.

Claim 4

A positive-working photosensitive composition according to Claim 1, characterized in that said ketone is acetone.

Claim 5

A positive-working photosensitive composition according to Claim 1, characterized in that said aromatic compound is salicyclic acid, 4-methylsalicyclic ' acid, 6-methylsalicyclic acid, 4-ethylsalicyclic acid, 6-propylsalicyclic acid, 6-laurylsalicyclic acid, 6-stearylsalicyclic acid, 4,6-dimethylsalicyclic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, 2-methyl-4-hydroxybenzoic acid, 6-methyl-4-hydroxybenzoic acid, 2,6-dimethyl-4-hydroxybenzoic acid, 2,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, 2,4-dihydroxy-6-methylbenzoic acid, 2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid, 2,6-dihydroxy-4-methylbenzoic acid, 4-chloro-2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid, 4-methoxy-2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid, gallic acid, fluoroglucinecarboxylic acid, 2,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid, m-galloyl gallic acid, tannic acid, m-benzoyl gallic acid, m-(p-toluyl)gallic acid, protocatechuoyl-gallic acid, 4,6-dihydroxyphthalic acid, (2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)acetic acid, (2,6-dihydroxyphenyl)acetic acid or (3,4,5-trihydroxyphenyl)acetic acid.

Claim 6

A positive-working photosensitive composition according to Claim 4, characterized in that said aromatic compound is gallic acid, tannic acid, m-galloyl gallic acid or fluoroglucinecarboxylic acid.

A positive-working photosensitive composition according to Claim 1, characterized in that said condensation unit has the following formula (I):

wherein n is 1 or 2, RI is hydrogen, hydroxyl, acyloxy alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, which may be the same or different when n is 2; and R 2 and R 3 which may be the same or different, are each hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, phenyl or substituted phenyl.

wherein n is 1 or 2, RI is hydrogen, hydroxyl, acyloxy alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, which may be the same or different when n is 2; and R 2 and R 3 which may be the same or different, are each hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, phenyl or substituted phenyl.

Claim 10

A positive-working photosensitive composition according to Claim 1, characterized in that said condensed resin is salicyclic acid-formaldehyde resin, salicyclic acid-m-cresol-formaldehyde resin, 4-methylsalicyclic acid-formaldehyde resin, 6-propylsalicyclic acid-phenol-formaldehyde resin, 4,6-dimethylsalicyclic acid-acetaldehyde resin, p-hydroxybenzoic acid-resorcinol-benzaldehyde resin, 2-methyl-4-hydroxybenzoic acid-formaldehyde resin, 2,6-dimethyl-4-hydroxybenzoic acid-acetaldehyde resin, 2,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid-p-cresol-formaldhyde resin, 2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid-butylaldehyde resin, 4-chloro-2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid-m-cresol-formaldehyde resin, 4-methoxy-2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid-formaldehyde resin, gallic acid-formaldehyde resin, gallic acid-resorcin-formaldehyde resin, fluoroglucinecarboxylic acid-benzaldehyde resin, fluoro-glucinecarboxylic acid-acetone resin, fluoroglucinecarboxylic acid-resorcinol- benzophenone resin, 2,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid- furfural resin, galloyl gallic acid-pyrogallol-p-nitrobenzaldehyde resin, tannic acid-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, tannic acid-m-cresol-formaldehyde resin, tannic acid-p-hydroxybenzoic acid-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, 4,6-dihydroxyphthalic acid-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, (2,4-dihydroxyphenol) acetic acid-propionaldehyde resin or (3,4,5-trihydroxyphenyl)acetic acid-m-cresol-formaldehyde resin.

Claim 11

A positive-working photosensitive composition according to Claim 1, characterized in that said condensed resin is gallic acid-formaldehyde resin, tannic acid-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, gallic acid-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin or fluoroglucine- carboxylic acid-benzaldehyde resin.

Claim 12

A photosensitive lithographic printing plate material including a support having thereon a positive-working photosensitive composition comprising (a) an o-quinonediazide compound characterized in that said composition is a composition according to any preceding Claim.
