Abstract In a process for operating a pressure-swing adsorption installation for the production of technically pure nitrogen from air and in an installation operated by this process, a Roots blower device (3) for supplying the adsorbers (1,2) with air and for generating and maintaining an adsorption pressure of preferably 1.8 bar and a Roots pump device (7) for generating a desorption end pressure of preferably 85 mbar are provided. <IMAGE>
