Abstract

Abstract This device eliminates relative movement between a cutting blade and a gear during cutting process or speed variation in a numerical control machine tool for machining gears for gear hobblng machines, gear grinding machines, etc. This device, for that purpose, includes a synchronization controlling pulse distributor (152) and a pulse distributor (153) for imparting additional rotation to the gear material in response to the type of the gear. The rotation of a cutting blade (110) and the rotation of the gear material around a C-axis on a table (101) are synchronized by the distributor (152), and the additional rotation of the gear material around the C-axis required in response to the type of the gear to be machined is provided by the distributor (153). The C-axis rotation pulses generated from the distributors (152, 153) are added by an adder (156), and fed as a command pulse to a C-axis servo unit (104).

Claim 1
Independent Claim 136 words
A numerical-controlled machine tool for cutting a gear, such as a gear hobbing machine, gear grinding machine or the like, characterized by the provision of a synchronization control pulse distributor for controlling the synchronous relationship between the rotation of a cutter and the rotation of a gear blank which is determined by the number of teeth of a gear to be cut; a tooth profile forming pulse distributor for controlling at least a vertically-moving shaft of the cutter or the gear blank and a rotary shaft of the gear blank for forming the tooth profile of the gear to be cut; and an adder for adding together distribution pulses of the tooth profile forming pulse distributor and the synchronization control pulse distributor to produce command pulses for application to the rotary shaft of the gear blank.
