Abstract

Abstract O Apparatus for controlling the transmission ratio of an infinitely variable V-belt (14) transmission, provided with a control valve (20) for regulating a fluid flow. The control valve comprises an axially displaceable valve body (21), said valve body being connected by spring means (23) to the armature of an electromagnet (26) whereby the armature (25) upon a slight displacement regulates a fluid pressure which imposes a load on the valve body (21).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 69 words
An apparatus for controlling the transmission ratio of an infinitely variable V-belt transmission, provided with a control valve for regulating a fluid flow, which control valve comprises an axially displaceable valve body, characterized in that the valve body is connected by spring means to the armature of an electromagnet, in that the armature upon a slight displacement regulates a fluid pressure which imposes a load on the valve body.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 69 words
An apparatus for controlling the transmission ratio of an infinitely variable V-belt transmission, provided with a control valve for regulating a fluid flow, which control valve comprises an axially displaceable valve body, characterized in that the valve body is connected by spring means to the armature of an electromagnet, in that the armature upon a slight displacement regulates a fluid pressure which imposes a load on the valve body.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 43 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the spring means have the form of a helical spring mounted between the valve body and the axially displaceable armature, the latter forming a variable restriction in a fluid passage upon a slight displacement.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 45 words
An apparatus according to claim 2, characterized in that the fluid pressure at the side of the valve body facing away from the helical spring is controlled by the supply of fluid through the variable restriction and by the discharge of fluid through another restriction.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 49 words
An apparatus according to claim 2, characterized in that the armature upon a slight displacement controls fluid pressure in the space present between the valve body and the armature the latter being provided with an axial bore to establish substantially equal fluid pressures on both sides of said armature.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 28 words
An apparatus according to claim 4, characterized in that the fluid supply to as well as the fluid discharge from said space is variably throttled by the armature.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 55 words
6 . An apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the spring means have the form of a leaf spring which, depending on the position of the valve body, exerts a force upon the armature, whilst the armature upon a slight displacement controls a fluid pressure by partly closing up a fluid discharge nozzle.
