Connector for optical fibres and method for its manuafacture
Abstract
Connector for optical fibers comprising two male ends (1) mounted at the end of each of the fibers (13) to be connected and a female reconstitution connector (2) comprising a longitudinal hole (5) for supporting and aligning the two ends facing face. The female connector has in its central part, inside its longitudinal bore, a stop body (9) for the male connectors, having an axial through hole (10) and around it a contact surface facing each of the male end pieces, each of the male end pieces having an axial tubular protuberance (11) capable of engaging in the orifice of said body and a conduit (12) into which the optical fiber can be introduced with play and sealed so that its end coincides with the end of said protuberance, each of the end pieces further comprising, set back from said protuberance, and surrounding the rear part thereof, an annular recess whose wall defines a contact surface (16) with the bearing surface opposite the body of the female connector.
