Analog frequency divider using a dual gate field effect transistor for very high frequencies
Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a frequency divider of the analogue type (in contrast to digital dividers) in which use is made of a field effect transistor with two gates for dividing, in particular by a factor two, a very high frequency, for example of the order of 3 to 20 GHz. To this end, the second gate (G2) is used to introduce the signal at the original frequency (F) and the first gate (G1) of the transistor is connected to the drain D across an element (24) which selects the sub-harmonic frequency (F/2). An additional filtering (12) is provided at the output of the divider. Application to microwave circuits, in particular to direct generation microwave frequency synthesizers. <IMAGE>
