Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 17
Claim 1
Independent Claim 109 words
A fluid dental composition which comprises (a) liquid polymerisable material (A) (b) a mixture of fillers (B) in volume fraction from 60% to 85% where volume fraction is expressed as said mixture of fillers comprising fine particle size filler and large particle size filler, the fine particle size filler having a mean size value in the longest direction of less than 0.5 um and being present in volume fraction from 10% to 55% where volume fraction is expressed as and the large particle filler having mean size value in the longest dimension of 0.5µm to 80 µm, (c) polymerisation catalyst for the liquid polymerisable material, and (d) dispersing agent.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 109 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 19 words
A fluid dental composition according to claim 1 in which the filler volume fraction is from 60% to 75%.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 27 words
A fluid dental composition according to either claim 1 or claim 2 in which the volume fraction of fine particle size filler is from 10% to 25%.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3 in which the fine particle size filler is colloidal or precipated silica.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 29 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4 in which the large particle size filler shows a single peak in distribution of particle size.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 28 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4 in which the large particle size filler shows two peaks in distribution of particle size.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 27 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 6 in which the liquid polymerisable material comprises at least one diacrylate or dimethacrylate ester.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 24 words
A fluid dental composition according to claim 7 in which the liquid polymerisable material comprises a mixture of vinyl urethane and a glycol dimethacrylate.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 22 words
A fluid dental composition according to claim 7 in which the polymerisable material comprises a mixture of Bis-GMA and a glycol dimethacrylate.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 46 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 9 in which two dispersing agents are included, one to assist in dispersion of the fine particle size filler and the other to assist in dispersion of the large particle size filler or fillers.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 40 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 10 in which the dispersing agent for the fine particle size filler comprises a mixture of at least one organic phosphorus oxy-acid and at least one organic amine.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 23 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 11 in which the polymerisation catalyst is activated by visible light.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 39 words
A fluid dental composition according to claim 12 in which the visible light activated catalyst comprises at least one a-diketone and at least one organic amine capable of reducing the a-diketone when the latter is in an excited state.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 28 words
A fluid dental composition according to any one of claims 1 to 11 in which the catalyst comprises an organic peroxide and an organic activator for that peroxide.
Claim 16
Independent Claim 58 words
A method for the production of a fluid dental composition as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 14 which comprises forming dispersions of the fillers with their appropriate dispersing agents, non-polymerisable diluent and/or a portion of the polymerisable material and subsequently adding those dispersions to the bulk of the polymerisable material and removing any non-polymerisable diluent.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 41 words
A package which comprises two parts, one part containing a peroxide catalyst and the other part containing an activator for that catalyst, such that mixing of approximately equal quantities from each package produces a fluid dental composition according to claim 14.
