Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
101 words
An osmotic device for the controlled delivery of an agent to a fluid environment of use, comprising: (a) a wall formed of a semipermeable material permeable to the passage of an exterior fluid present in the environment, and substantially impermeable to the passage of beneficial agent, the semipermeable wall surrounding and forming a compartment; (b) a passageway in the wall communicating -with the compartment and the exterior of the device; and (c) the device characterized by the compartment containing a layer of beneficial agent and a layer of an expandable hydrogel, with the layer of agent in communication with the passageway.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
22 words
The osmotic device for the controlled delivery of the agent according to claim 1 wherein the layer of agent contains an osmagent.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
42 words
The osmotic device for the controlled delivery of the benficial agent according to claim 1 wherein the wall is formed of a member selected from the group consisting of cellulose acylate, cellulose diacylate, cellulose triacylate, cellulose acetate, cellulose diacetate and cellulose triacetate.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
18 words
The osmotic device for the controlled delivery of agent according to claim 1 wherein the hydrogel is cross-linked.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
22 words
The osmotic device for the controlled delivery of agent according to claim 1 wherein layer of agent contains osmagent and suspending agent.
